Andrew FettermanAndrew Fetterman is an engineering intern for Staffeld Engineering Services.  Andrew is a senior at Elizabethtown College, majoring in engineering, concentration in mechanical.  You can read his full bio on LinkedIn.

Last summer Andrew worked for Greene, Tweed & Co. as a mechanical test lab intern.  Andrew assisted in the mechanical testing of future and current seals, O-rings, T-rings, and bearings. He also used SolidWorks to design a test fixture for Rapid Gas Depression testing.  Andrew created an Excel workbook – still in use today – to plot and verify thousands of data points, saving hours of work for the lab technicians.

Two summers ago Andrew worked for Finisar Corporation as an engineering intern alongside the Engineering Design Team. This team worked to develop leading edge technology for fiber optics networking. Andrew’s main responsibility was to develop a simulation using commercial software to model the characteristics of fiber optic transmissions which were being tested in the lab.

Andrew is a scholar athlete, and has played center midfield for the varsity men’s soccer team since freshman year.  Andrew has maintained a 3.7/4.0 GPA through his first three years of college, and will be graduating May 2014.  Andrew has volunteered his time to coach intercity children, and has participated in Relay for Life for over 15 years.
